This position serves as a key member of the Dean's management team in the Shidler College of Business responsible for leading and developing the School of Travel Industry Management (TIM) as one of the top travel industry management programs in the world. The planning, developing, and directing of TIM's initiatives is a key component of the university's mission to ensure an accomplished community of scholars and students who can contribute to the economic vitality of the state of Hawaii. The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) moved to the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University in July 2019. The HTM School has existed for over 60 years, making it one of the oldest such schools in the nation with a long tradition of success in serving the various segments of the hospitality industry. The next chair, beginning July 1, 2020 may qualify in one of two ways: • As a tenured professor, the candidate will have a doctorate in HTM or related field, with a history of teaching, research, and service commensurate with the rank of associate professor or professor;
• As a clinical professor, the candidate will minimally have a master’s degree in HTM or related field, with extensive leadership experience in the hospitality field.
